Warning issued on cryptocurrency scams
Gardai in Cork are warning people to be wary of get rich quick schemes.
It's after a Cork man lost almost €20,000 after investing in what he thought was bitcoin.
In a statement issued to RedFM News Gardaí have confirmed that they have launched an investigation into the investment fraud incident however no arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
FraudSMART is launching a new campaign warning scammers are creating bogus companies and promising people they can get rich quick on investments.
