Water Restored To Most Of The City Centre

Irish Water says water has been restored to most of the city centre this afternoon.
Cork City Council say they expect to have the water restored to thousands of residents in the suburbs by this evening.
Repair Crews from Irish Water are continuing to work at the Lee Water Works to repair the burst water pipe, which has left up to 40,000 people without access to water today.
Many Local business owners have been forced to close their doors this afternoon due to the disruption , but most now have had their supply restored.
However Capwell, Ballinlough and Douglas are still experiencing supply interruptions.
Speaking to RedFM News City Council spokesperson David Joyce says the water supply will return gradually in order to avoid further leaks in the pipe:
