Weather warning issued for Cork
It will be in place from 9 o'clock tonight until Sunday.
A Code Level Orange Weather Warning has been issued for Cork as Storm Desmond sweeps across the country.
Conditions are expected to be very wet and windy weather overnight tonight and all of Saturday.
Rainfall of up to 70 mm is expected and southwest winds with mean speeds of 50 to 65km/h will gust 90 to 100 km/h.
The weather warning is in operation from 9 o'clock tonight until the early hours of Sunday morning.
Speaking to RedFM News John Eagleton of Met Éireann says spot flooding could result from the sever weather conditions.
