Welfare recipients told their better off at work

Letters are being issued to welfare recipients outlining how much better off they are working instead of receiving the dole. The government have launched the 'Better off in Work' campaign as part of a major drive to get people off the live register. Research commissioned by the Social Protection Minister shows that 75 per cent of people in receipt of welfare would be better off earning a wage while the research also shows that 3 per cent are actually better off signing on.
