West Cork Community Launch Campaign As Local Post Office Faces Possible Closure

Ballineen Post Office received a notice of closure from An Post who are said to be considering the future of the branch.
An Post have said due to the close proximity of Ballineen and Enniskeane Post Offices, one of the branches must face closure.
The O'Driscoll family who have been running the post office since 1974 have contacted Minister Jim Daly who has written to An Post in a bid to prevent its closure.
A public meeting is being held this evening and submissions can be made to An Post before February 23 before a final decision is taken.
Speaking to RedFM News, Kate O'Driscoll of Balinneen Post Office says it would be a massive shame for the community if the office closed:
