Woman accused of leading Gardaí on high-speed chase asked to leave court because she should be self-quarantining

Gardaí are looking for stricter bail conditions for a woman accused of leading them on a high-speed chase down the M50 earlier this month.

Gemma Greene, from Bunratty Road, Coolock, Dublin, was asked to leave court today because she still has a few days left to quarantine following a trip abroad.

On March 1st, gardaí gave chase to a car on the M50.

The chase was livestreamed on social media and the driver could be heard singing to music. Pursuing patrol cars could be seen in the wing mirror.

The car was eventually stopped in Ballymun and 24yo Gemma Greene was arrested. She’s facing two counts of dangerous driving.

She appeared in court today, albeit briefly, because she was asked to go home when the judge was informed she should be in quarantine.
The court heard she only returned to Ireland last Monday after a trip to Spain so she should be quarantining until next Monday.

With that in mind, the judge adjourned the case until next week when gardaí will ask for stricter bail conditions and they also plan to object to an application for her to receive legal aid.
