Work underway on water supply issues in Belgooly

Work has begun to resolve water supply issues in Belgooly. Cork County Council says adjustments have been made to existing pressure filters which have brought the iron and manganese levels below the guideline standards and engineers say this should provide short term relief for customers. Irish Water has also agreed with the County Council that they will work on the design of a pipeline connection from the regional scheme with a view to delivering this as a minor works project to commence later this year. There's been a broad welcome to the news as residents in the area have had to endure problems with the water supply for many years
