Workers at Haulbowline await results of an asbestos investigation

Civilian workers at Haulbowline who are anxiously awaiting results of an asbestos investigation on a number of naval ships have slammed management for their lack of transparency. The workers say they're not being kept in the same loop as naval personnel, and are yet to receive screening. It comes after a fourth ship, the LÉ Eithne, has been tied up amid concerns of asbestos onboard. It's feared more than 150 workers may have come in contact with the dangerous mineral. SIPTU who represents 25 workers potentially exposed on the LÉ Ciara has called on management to be proactive when it releasing information to workers.
