World record attempt by Cork speedboat Thunder Child underway
The €1 million vessel built by Safehaven Marine set off just near the Old Head of Kinsale at 10 o'clock this morning hoping to complete its journey around the island of Ireland in record-breaking time.
At the time of writing the five crew on board had completed just over 493km of the the 2,000km round-Ireland trip in 7 hours 10 minutes.
