Youghal business owners call for treatment plant development to be prioritised

Business owners in Youghal are calling on the Government to prioritise the development of a treatment plant in the town. Sewage pipes have been laid in Youghal to improve water quality but because a foreshore license has not been issued the pipes currently lay idle with no plant to be hooked up to. It's now feared that swimming bans will once again be imposed as without a treatment plant bacteria filled water could enter Youghal bay. Speaking to RedFM News Youghal based auctioneer Mary O'Donnell says the delay is simply not good enough. Click PLAY button to hear.
