That's according to a Senior Environmental Scientist with the Environmental Protection Agency who made the comments on foot of a recent report.
The reports shows that 10 EU identified bathing waters in the county have met the criteria for new stricter standards of bathing water quality - including Barley Cove, Garretstown and Inchydoney.
Peter Webster from the EPA says the 'Poor' quality status awarded to Youghal Front Stand -was based on an assessment coverng results from 2011 to 2014 and would not necessarily reflect current standards.
