Youghal man left distraught after drowning

A Youghal man, who tried to rescue a 10 year old boy who drowned, says he feels distraught and very sad after the child's death in East Cork. The boy was swimming at the beach in Youghal around 5 o'clock yesterday evening, when he got into difficulty and was swept around to the harbour in strong currents. Youghal-man Eugene Shields says he saw the young boy in the water and he dived in to try and rescue him but couldn't find him. Press PLAY button above to listen to the audio
