Youghal set for major US tourism boost

Youghal is set for a major tourism boost when it features prominently in the U.S this Summer.

A programme on the East Cork town is to be aired in four different cities stateside.

It's after a decision by the US Congress to award a proclamation to two traders in town appointing them as tourism ambassadors for Youghal and the East Cork region. 



It follows the launch of the Cork-US transatlantic flights last year and it's hoped the programme will boost visitors to the entire Cork region.

Tourism ambassadors Oskana Shadrina and Miceál O’Hurley of Fantastic Flavours icecream parlour in Youghal told RedFM News that the programme will open up the regions to thousands of Americans:
