Young man killed in a road accident in County Carlow

The incident occurred in the early hours of this morning
Emergency services are at the scene and investigation is underway.
Gardaí say the man aged in his late teens or early 20's was walking when he was struck by an SUV on the Castledermot Road in Tullow at around 4.30am.
The driver of the SUV was not injured in the accident.
The Thomas Traynor Road to Rathbawn Lane is closed and diversions are in place, as investigators carry out an examination of the scene.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact them.
