Young Offenders set for the small screen
Cork's smash hit at the Irish box office last year, the Young Offenders, is going from strength to strength.
The BBC and RTE have commissioned a brand new six part TV series of the movie, which will begin production Leeside this summer, and is due to hit screens next year.
The Highest grossing movie of 2016 follows the antics of two teenagers from Cork city, played by actors Alex Murphy and Chris Walley, who cycle to West Cork in a bid to find lost bails of cocaine that have fallen off a boat.
Director Peter Foott will return to work on the tv series as a writer, director and producer after the success of the film including winning Best Screenplay at the IFTA awards.
Speaking to RedFM News Hillary Rose who played Mairead, the mum of one of the Young Offenders in the film says its success has exceeded their expectations;
