Bantry confirms its first case of Covid-19

It's understood the patient was hospitalised this week.

It follows a Government decision to close all schools, colleges and childcare facilities across the country from tomorrow.

The announcement was made by Taoiseach Leo Varadkar in an effort to stop the spread of covid-19.

Meanwhile all indoor gatherings of more than 100 people and outdoor gatherings of more than 500 people have also been cancelled.
