Here's a reminder of today's Covid headlines

The Health Protection Surveillance Centre has reported 34 new deaths from Covid-19 and 473 new cases; 14 of those cases were here in Cork.

A special cabinet meeting is taking place this evening to sign off on adding new countries to the mandatory hotel quarantine list.

Passengers arriving from 58 states currently have to spend two weeks in a designated hotel at their own cost.

But the government is considering adding EU countries like Germany, Italy and France to the list, on foot of medical advice.

The European Medicines Agency  is reviewing a possible link between Johnson & Johnson's coronavirus vaccine and blood clots.

Europe's drugs regulator says four serious cases have been identified in the US, one of which was fatal.

The European Medicines Agency approved the single-shot vaccine for use in Europe last month.

It has not yet been rolled out.

Ireland is due to receive 605,000 doses between now and the end of June, including nearly 41,000 later this month.

Behavioural scientist says handshakes are no longer a sign of trust, thanks to Covid.

Last year, head of the USA's Covid-19 Taskforce Dr Anthony Faucci said he doesn't see people ever shaking hands again.

Claire Coogan from Behavior Wise says the sudden change in behaviour shows humans' natural adaptability.
