Education Minister set to announce alternative Leaving Cert plan

The Education Minister is due to announce the alternative plan for this year's Leaving Cert shortly.

It's expected the written exams will be scrapped and replaced with predictive grades.

Class rankings and previous test results will form part of students' marks as part of the proposals.

Ray Silke is a teacher in Galway - and says there are some concerns.

"Some of my students, I have taught them for six years.

"I think teachers will be a little bit concerned about an unconscious bias within their own relationships with their students.
