Housing Minister Insists Protections Available For Anyone Worried They Face Eviction

Charities are afraid there could be some notices sent out to tenants, now that the blanket eviction ban has expired

Meanwhile the number of homeless people has fallen to it's lowest point in nearly four years, at 8060.

Housing Minister Darragh O'Brien says anyone whose job is affected by Covid restrictions can ask for help:

"My message to anyone whose job and income has been affected by COVID. You've mentioned a number of trades like hospitality, the pub trade or aviation. They will all be able to seek protection from evictions, under the Residential Tenancies Act and it's a simple self declaration, and they would be protected from evictions till at least, the 12th July this year."
