No Covid clusters following schools reopening

There have been no new Covid clusters in schools since reopening.

Some primary and secondary school classes returned to the classroom last week for the first time since Christmas.

All primary school classes are due to return by next Monday.

Deputy CMO Ronan Glynn says signs in schools have been positive so far.

"I suppose when the recommendation was initially made around the return to education, disease levels would have been much higher than even they were a week ago

"Things have improved significantly and for the better over the past two to three weeks, and our hope is that they continue to improve, but we'll monitor it closely."
