Number of worldwide cases passes 2m
The number of cases of Covid-19 in the world has passed 2 million for the first time.
The death toll from the virus has also risen to nearly 127,000.
The US accounts for almost a third of the world's cases, and it also has the highest number of deaths.
Dr Mike Ryan, from the World Health Organisation, says the virus hits patients in different ways.
"The initial response to the virus can generate very high fevers as the body fights the presence of the virus in the body, and sometimes they can appear to get better.
"In other situations that process is set up in the lungs, and people can then develop a pneumonia, which then results in a further deterioration.
"Other patients may have other organ failures which causes them to further deteriorate."
