Religious services resume from today

Faith groups across the country are looking forward to welcoming more people to mass and religious services from today.

As part of the easing of restrictions 50 people will be allowed to attend mass, funerals and weddings within church settings.

Fr. Richard Gibbons is the Parish Priest of Knock and Rector of Knock Shrine.

He says it's a welcome development: "We're certainly looking forward to this day and an awful lot of people that are to to come back to Knock Shrine here are certainly looking forward to it. We know what the limit is 50 but then, of course that is extended to larger churches that can have positivity exactly like before. So, we're fortunate enough that we can do that in our Basillica because it's quite large, so we're looking forward to welcoming people back to each of our masses. "
