The Head Of The HSE Says It's Inexcusable Some Heathcare Workers Are Refusing The Covid-19 Vaccine

One million vaccine doses are scheduled to arrive every month from May

'HSE CEO Paul Reid describes take up of the vaccine among health care workers as "extremely good". Dun Laoghaire TD Jennifer Carroll MacNeill has been contacted by a nursing home in her constituency which is concerned that some staff have refused the vaccine. Where staff decline a vaccine, a risk assessment is carried out and they may be redeployed. Liam Herrick from the Irish Council for Civil Liberties says the health service hasn't had mandatory policies regarding vaccines in the past. The first doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine to arrive in Ireland are being administered to healthcare workers from today.'
