Cork City's Manager has addressed speculation linking Kevin O'Connor with a move to Preston North End, while updating on Ryan Delaney's injury and loan extension.
It's a positive update on the injury sustained by Delaney in last nights Munster Senior Cup Final success.
Speaking to the Media in Bishopstown this afternoon the Manager says the on loan defender had an X-Ray on his ankle injury this morning, which showed no bone or ligament damage, but severe bruising.
He will be monitored and assessed again on Thursday ahead of Friday's game against Limerick, but Caulfield has added that he should be back in action next week.
Regarding Delaney's contract situation and negotiations to extend his stay from Burton Albion, Caulfield says they should be given confirmation one way or another by the weekend, he says the player is keen to stay, the Club want to keep him, but the matter is out of the Clubs hands and they just await news.
Meanwhile, with Kevin O'Connor's move to Preston all but confirmed, John Caulfield admits the Club have received outside interest and they are looking at the best possible deal for the Club.
