AUDIO: Nemo Rangers Open Title Defence With Big Win Over Duhallow
Nemo Rangers opened their Senior Football Championship title defence with a ten point win over Duhallow in their Round 1 clash at Pairc Ui Rinn on Tuesday night.
The Champions led just five points to two when Colin O'Brien received a straight red card in the 20th minute, and while Michael Vaughan closed the gap to just two for the divisional side, minutes later came the first of three goals in the opening half that would put this result beyond doubt.
Three goals in seven minutes, the first through Ciaran Dalton, followed by Conor Horgan, while Dalton finished again for the third.
At half time Nemo led 3-07 to 0-05, and while Duhallow held them to a one point margin in the second half, it finished a comfortable victory for Nemo at 3-14 to 1-10.
Click PLAY below to hear the reaction of both Managers, Nemo Rangers' Larry Kavanagh expresses his delight with the performance but admits they will appeal the red card, while Duhallow Manager Padraig Kearns praised his sides efforts for the hour.
