AUDIO: Padraic Duffy on Galway Considering Move to Munster

The GAA Director General has admitted that the Galway Hurlers provincial participation should be considered by Croke Park.

Liam Mellows are to bring a motion to the Galway GAA convention for Delegates to consider making an approach to Munster for a place in their Hurling Championship from 2018.

Leinster Council have rejected a request from Galway to extend their participation in their provincial competition beyond the Senior grade, while they have also defied calls from the Westerners for home fixtures.

Padraic Duffy, while attending the Pairc Ui Chaoimh Priority Club launch, has told Lisa Lawlor that the National Executive may have to get involved in the debate for the good of Hurling, while also identifying this move by Galway as a statement of dissatisfaction with Leinster rather than a genuine desire to enter Munster competition.
