The Government will meet this afternoon and are set to sign off on contact training being permitted for sport, including GAA, from Monday June 29th.
The National Public Health Emergency Team convened yesterday and furnished advice to the Government over phases three and four of the lockdown, and OTB Sports understands that the Government is poised to lift restrictions.
Sporting organisations had been hoping for an easing of stringent measures preventing contact in sporting matches before the 20th July.
It's not expected that any easing will affect the proposed GAA calendar for club games from the end of July and inter county games from the end of October.
