Cork football boss releases Libby Coppinger to focus on camogie semi final
Libby Coppinger will not have to play two games in a matter of hours this coming Saturday.
The Bantry dual star was facing a dilemma this weekend, with the Cork ladies footballers taking on Galway in Tullamore at 12.30 on Saturday afternoon in their All Ireland Quarter final, with the All Ireland Camogie Semi Final between Cork and Galway fixed for the Gaelic Grounds at 7pm.
Despite an agreement being in place between the Camogie Association and the Ladies Gaelic Football Association to avoid major fixture clashes, due to television broadcast arrangements neither game was able to be refixed.
However Cork ladies football boss Ephie Fitzgerald has confirmed that they have released Coppinger from her football commitments this weekend, freeing her up to concentrate solely on the camogie semi final.
Fitzgerald confirmed the news via Twitter, saying
In the interest of player welfare we are releasing Libby Coppinger to focus exclusively on camogie next Saturday #playersmustcomefirst

The Cork boss was far from happy about the situation when RedFM Sport spoke to him last week.
