Cotter departs Rebel Army
John Cotter has left Cork City.
The former head coach has departed following the appointment of Neale Fenn earlier this week.
Cotter was John Caulfield's assistant, winning two FAI Cups and a league title in a four year spell.
The former Avondale United boss took over following Caulfield's departure in May.
Cotter tweeted to thank the players, coaches and supporters, and in a statement said that he felt the time was " right to part ways with the club and to leave the new head coach take over with a clean slate."
In a statement on CCFC.ie, Cork City FC chairman Declan Carey said: “Everyone at the club is hugely grateful for everything John Cotter has done for the club in recent years and in particular over these last few challenging months. John leaves the club with all of our best wishes and we look forward to welcoming John to Turner’s Cross in the future.”
I have officially left @CorkCityFC. I have loved my time with the club and have made many great friends in that time. I would like to thank all the players, staff and supporters who all shared in the success we had and wish them even more success #CCFC84
