Dundalk 3-0 Cork City

Cork City slumped to a third consecutive defeat last night as their poor start to the SSE Airtricity League season continued.

The Rebel Army lost 3-0 to Dundalk at Oriel Park, a result that leaves them rooted to the bottom of the table with no points, and ten goals conceded in three games.

Michael Duffy opened the scoring for the Lillywhites when he volleyed home after 16 minutes, however Vinny Perth's side would have to wait until just after the hour mark to double their lead.

Daniel Kelly was fouled by Ronan Hurley inside the box, and Patrick Hoban stepped up to slot past Liam Bossin.

Dundalk rounded off the scoring three minutes later when Jordan Flores found the net.

Dundalk are level on points with Shamrock Rovers at the top of the table with nine points from nine, with Rovers' superior goal difference keeping them on top.

City have a quick turnaround this week as they take on Finn Harps in Turner's Cross on Friday, as the Rebel Army look to end their losing run.

After the game City boss Neale Fenn spoke to ExtraTime.ie.
