FIXTURES: Pink Weekend At National Basketball Arena

Team Montenotte Hotel, Singleton Supervalue Brunell and Fr Matthews travel to the National Basketball Arena this weekend as the Women's National League takes centre stage for a 'Pink Weekend' of Basketball action.
Four Women's Premier League and four Women's Division One games will be hosted in Tallaght to raise funds for Breast Cancer Ireland.
Team Montenotte Hotel and DCU Mercy put their winning streaks on the line against Pyrobel Killester and UL Huskies respectively. "The whole league has upped its game," says DCU Mercy's Sarah Woods. "When you see how close the games were last weekend, you can tell there was a lot of work done over the summer." Entry to games at the National Basketball Arena this weekend is free in lieu of a donation to Breast Cancer Ireland.
Portlaoise Panthers are back in the Arena for the first time since winning the Senior Women's National Cup. The midlanders have since been promoted to the Premier League but have been relying on the same eight players in their campaign to date.
"It's such a massive step up in pace," says Panthers Guard Maeve O'Sullivan. "The passes are quicker, you're getting down the court quicker. Realistically you can't have players on the court for 40 minutes. We've kind of struggled in that department. Catherine [O'Sullivan] and Tracey [Fallon] will be back to the panel soon to add some of that strength in depth we so desperately need."
In the Men's Premier League, Pyrobel Killester or UCD Marian can move top of the table when the sides meet on Saturday.
