Lesnar Closes the Door on the UFC
It was the biggest will they/won't they since Niles Fraiser and Daphne Moon. Would the UFC resign Brock Lesnar? Would the former heavyweight champion return to the octagon after more than three years away? Well now we have our answer. And it's an emphatic no. And he said it himself. He didn't need his advocate Paul Heyman for that. There had been talk over the past year of Lesnar leaving WWE and returning to MMA. It had emerged that the 37 year old was out of contract following Wrestlemania 31 this Sunday, and naturally rumours were flying left right and centre. Lesnar himself wasn't afraid to stir the pot, appearing at Ronda Rousey's win over Cat Zingano at UFC 184 last month. However it's all been put to bed, with the man himself appearing on TV last night to confirm he had re-signed with WWE, and that his MMA career was over - watch here https://twitter.com/WWE/status/580529932922667008 It's an incredibly interesting interview. You can see how hard it was for Brock to make the decision - he had been training for the past two months in preparation for an MMA return. Which, to us anyway, gives us an indication that the WWE turned up with an 11th hour mega bid to retain his services. Brock faces Roman Reigns at Wrestlmania 31 on Sunday, with Lesnar favourite to retain his WWE title.
