Let's remember the better times...
The World Cup is back. You may have noticed. I'm excited. It's 12 years since we got in the door of the big party. TWELVE. There were many positives to be taken from our nation's promising showing at the 2002 World Cup: Gary Breen scoring a goal, Ireland winning a game, getting out of group and Mick McCarthy's face when Robbie Keane equalised against Germany. Following the World Cup, RTE put together one of the best sports montages I've ever seen (in my not-at-all humble opinion) and I'm not ashamed to say I watch this video about once a week. This video encapsulates everything that's good about the World Cup: the passion, the colour, the smiles, goals which go in off the crossbar, Gary Breen, sad English men, frustrated Italians gesticulating wildly, Brazilian ladies, Gary Breen and some cutting-edge insight from Jim Beglin. Also Gary Breen. Enjoy. DaveORedFM
