LIVEBLOG - Cork City 1-1 KR Reykjavík

FULL TIME - City 1-1 KR

9.33 And that is that. A frustrating night for City who will have a big job ahead of them in Iceland next week. KR have that crucial away goal so City HAVE to score. Not an impossible task in the second leg by any means, but a tough one for John Caulfield's men.

9.33 FULL TIME - CORK CITY 1-1 KR

9.28 Three minutes added on

9.26 Palmason booked after cynically tripping O'Sullivan after the City player had beaten him and was driving forward

9.22 City have pinned KR back, the Icelandic side barely outside of their own half in the last ten minutes. The crowd urging City forward

9.19 City denied what looked a STONEWALL penalty when Fridgeirsson bundles O'Sullivan over in the box while O'Sullivan waited for Dunleavy's cross to drop to him. Referee says no, but all bias aside, that should have been a penalty.

9.16 Dunleavy's deep cross from the right finds O'Sullivan's head but the former Avondale United man heads narrowly over. City turning the screw

9.15 Dan Murray has done very well in midfield since he's come on

9.13 The crowd coming back into it now as City start applying the pressure

9.12 Sub for KR - Ragnarsson replaces Ormarsson

9.09 Corner for City, Miller takes from the left, falls to Bennett who shoots, it's blocked but Bennett crosses back across goal. Murray heads it back with a looping header, the keeper jumps with Sheppard, he claims it but falls into the net after a nudge from Sheppard. The City fans think it's a goal, but the referee rightly awards a free kick to KR

9.08 KR Sub - Martin replaces Hauksson

9.05 City Sub - Dan Murray replaces Colin Healy - Murray into midfield

9.03 4,641 the official attendance at the Cross, as McNulty is forced into another save from close range

9.01 Saevarrson shoots and it's going wide until Darren Dennehy sticks his foot out - every City fan's heart is in their mouths as McNulty is wrong footed, but it goes wide for a corner, thankfully. Nothing comes from the corner kick

8.59 City on the front foot a bit now. Atmosphere here though is incredibly flat. Crowd on edge a little bit

8.58 Cork City Sub - Mark O'Sullivan replaces John O'Flynn

8.54 A message comes over the PA reminding supporters that standing is NOT permitted. UEFA rule, apparently. Modern football, eh? City fans in the Shed don't listen and remain standing.

8.52 The KR midfielders are beginning to dominate. Healy booked for a clumsy late tackle.

8.46 Billy Dennehy runs down the left flank and crosses for Sheppard, he chests it back for O'Flynn who shoots, but his effort is blocked by a KR defender on the line. Sheppard perhaps should have gone for goal himself

8.44 SECOND HALF IS UNDERWAY

8.43 City Sub - Johnny Dunleavy in for Gaynor. Great to see Johnny back fit and back in action

8.42 Republic Of Ireland Assistant Manager Watch - Roy Keane in the stands in front of us

8.34 An interesting 45 minutes of action at the Cross. KR look very tidy on the ball and are a threat every time they go forward. Shoop (Shoop ba doop) is giving the City defenders a torrid time, but they've held up well. Obviously, the concession of that goal was massively disappointing - and it'll make for uncomfortable viewing for the City players when they watch it back. Hauksson essentially had a free header, and they should have done far better. At the other end City haven't created much. Still all to play for, but City have to take a lead to Iceland you feel. Big second half on the way from Turner's Cross

8.30 HALF TIME - CORK CITY 1-1 KR

8.29 Ormarsson forces a decent save from McNulty, the resultant corner is cleared.

8.27 Shoop is running the show for KR and looks a danger every time he gets on the ball. That and saying his name is making me sing this. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME

8.24 Kevin O'Connor goes on a decent run down the left, beats two players and forces a corner. Healy plays it short to Miller, who finds Billy Dennehy on the edge of the box, but he fluffs his lines and shoots high and wide

8.18 KR seeing a lot of the ball now and are spreading it around well, as Schoop shoots narrowly wide after a mazy run from Hauksson

8.15 That goal has sucked the life out of the Cross. You could see how much it meant to KR as well - their entire bench erupted onto the pitch. We'd make an Iceland/volcano/geyser joke here, but we just don't have it in us.

8.14 Sub for KR - Josepsson (18) replaces Lorenzo (4)

8.11 Cork City 1-1 KR Corner from the right wasn't defended at all, Hauksson runs in with a bullet header past McNulty. Crap.

8.08 City 1-0 KR City win a free kick just outside the box, Miller steps up to take.. into the wall

8.05 GOAL FOR CORK CITY - Billy Dennehy takes a free kick from just inside half way, and the skipper Alan Bennett is there to head from from close range. Dream start for City.

7.57 John O'Flynn breaks down the right, he cross looking for Sheppard, but it goes wide. City on the front foot seconds later as Sheppard plays in Dennehy, he's past the back four but the linesman flags for offside

7.53 City's first attempt on goal - Liam Miller picks up the ball, the crowd urge him to shoot, the former Manchester United man obliges. Unfortunately it's with his weaker left foot and the keeper isn't troubled

7.52 Looking like a crowd of about 5,000 or so here I'd reckon

7.50 Jacob Schoop getting in behind the City defence but he pulls his left footed shot wide of McNulty's upright. KR aren't coming here to sit back.

7.49 First attempt on goal - Oskar Hauksson blasts one high. And wide. And really high.

7.48 Bit of a zip to the game already, being played at a decent pace. KR going with a 4-2-3-1 formation, which incidentally is my preferred formation in FIFA 15. Not that you needed to know that. But now you do.

7.45 O'Connor left back, Gaynor right back

7.44 And here we go - game is underway!

7.40 Teams are on the pitch!!

7.35 The Shed end is full and in good voice already

7.30 Decent crowd here at the Cross, but not full. Still 15 minutes to go, mind

7.25 Assuming it will be the usual 4-5-1 for City, with Mark McNulty on goal, a back four of O'Connor, Bennett, Dennehy and Gaynor, Sheppard, Miller, Healy, Buckley and Dennehy across the middle and O'Flynn up top. Great to see Dunleavy fit enough to take his place on the bench too.

7.20 LegendWatch - Davey Barry joins Delaney for a chat

7.17 CelebWatch - Damien Delaney spotted in the stand

7.15 Conditions superb here at the Cross. Pitch looks immaculate, it's not too warum, and judging by the big UEFA flags there's a stiff enough breeze going across the pitch, favouring neither team in the first half

7.12 Here are tonight's teams - no Mark O'Sullivan for City, Johnny Dunleavy makes the bench

7.05 Hello and welcome to Turner's Cross for tonight's Europa League tie. We'll be updating here across the evening, and on our Twitter page.
