O'Connell Escapes Citing
Good news for Munster fans. Paul O'Connell will NOT be cited for an incident involving Leinster's Dave Kearney during the sides' meeting on Saturday. O'Connell's boot made contact with Kearney's head while he kicked a loose ball, which resulted in Kearney briefly losing consciousness and leaving the field on a stretcher. However after reviewing the footage, Rabo Direct Pro 12 officials deemed that the act was careless and not intentional, and was not a red card offence. Therefore O'Connell will receive no ban, and will be available for the Heineken Cup clash with Clermont on the 27th of this month. Watch the incident in question here
