Reaction To Cork County Board Meeting & Criticism of Cusack Comments

After a difficult number of weeks for Cork GAA, last nights meeting of the County Board proved a heated one, with a number of contentious issues addressed by Delegates.
As expected, the fourth item on the Clár, the Report on Intercounty games, led to a number of strong opinions being aired.
County Chairman Ger Lane addressed the infamous statement issued by the Executive after Brian Cuthberts departure from the role of Cork Senior Football Manager. He expressed regret that parts of it were considered criticism of Munster Final referee Padraig Hughes, and said it was never the intention of the board.
Several Delegates expressed their disappointment with the statement, saying it was "appaling", "arrogant", an "embarrassment" which let the county down "deplorably", another adding that you “wouldn't see it on Fr Ted.”
Another Delegate called for the Board to apologise to the Cork GAA public, and not just Hughes.
The comments made by Sunday Game Analyst Donal Og Cusack the night of Cork's Championship exit to Galway were addressed by a number of Club representatives.
The comments were described as “unfair”, with one man strongly refuting suggestions that they are “Nod Men” to the Executive.
Another Delegate confirmed to the meeting that he had complained about the Analysts comments via the RTE Complaints procedure saying he took the comments personally, found it a calculated attack and said the table of statistics produced by the Cloyne Clubman was not full representative, adding “You can produce stats to prove anything”.
One Delegate recognised the huge contribution Donal Og has made to Cork GAA, but made the point that in the long broadcast history of The Sunday Game, he was the first analyst to cut down his own County.
Former County Board Chairman Bob Ryan also addressed Cusacks comments saying they were “regrettable” and expressed disappointment with RTE for not dealing with the issue since.

@BigRedBench if he is a regular speaker, who's goal is to develop the GAA in Cork, he isn't a stooge. It's called free speech.

@BigRedBench What element of those stats were incorrect?
— Séamus O Connor (@seamusocon) August 18, 2015
@BigRedBench I'd like to see his version of the "stats". Once they get a ticket, the majority of delegates seem to be happy.
— Séamus O Connor (@seamusocon) August 18, 2015
@BigRedBench if he didn't cut he'd be accused of being biased! @DonalOgC is the only one to call it as it is!
