The February winners of the Rebel Og Award are the Boherbue GAA Club, in recognition of their Scór na nÓg wins. Cork's RedFM are proud media partners to the awards. The press release follows, but click play above to hear an interview with Evie Casey, who was one of the figure dancers who won in Derry last week. ----------- BOHERBUE teenage talent continue to showcase the very best of cultural talent and provide show stopping performances in the GAA promoted Scór na nÓg, which resulted in an outstanding victory in Derry over the weekend. Over the past seven years, the Duhallow club have scaled the heights, confirming their place as the premier Scór clubs in the country after claiming a series of county, Munster and national honours. Scór through the promotion of music, song and dance is the flagship of the cultural drive within the GAA, providing endless hours of involvement and excitement for patrons for more than 40 years. From the current season, Boherbue again underlined their credentials, Boherbue recording a brilliant hat trick of wins in the county Scór na nOg Final. Boherbue got off to a superb start, emerging best in the figure dancing on performing the Cross Reel. For good measure, Boherbue retained the question time title and they maintained the winning momentum on emerging tops in set dancing with their interpretation of the “Caledonian Set”. From the Munster Final last month, Boherbue hit winning ways, taking the figure dancing with a line-up of Lena Sheahan, Ruth Cremin, Katie O'Sullivan, Siobhan Fitzgerald, Marguerite Hickey, Clona Ducey, Evie and Beatrice Casey to allow the club sample provincial honours for the 7th consecutive year and book a place for the All-Ireland Final in Derry, which they subsequently won over the weekend. To enjoy a run of on-going successes at Scór is an extraordinary achievement but Boherbue is an extraordinary club that keeps setting new standards for other teams to follow.
