Rory McIlroy's Open defence is all but over before it even started.
The world number one has ruptured ankle ligaments during a game of football with friends.
The County Down native is now facing several months on the sidelines, and he posted a picture of himself online a short time ago with him wearing a protective boot and in crutches.
