Sigerson Cup Post Match Interviews: UCC 3-15 CIT 1-6
UCC have secured progression to the next round of the Sigerson Cup with a comprehensive victory over CIT in their opening round derby at The Mardyke this afternoon. Paudie Kissane's CIT charges ran into a strong lead, dominating the opening quarter with a goal from John Corkery to lead 1-3 to 0-3. However the holders took control to lead 2-08 to 1-3 by half time, while there advantage was stretched to 15 points by the full time whistle, winning 3-15 to 1-6, dumping their old rivals out of the contest again this year. Kerry and Listowel Emmets Conor Cox contributed nine points for the victors, while the goals came through Kerry duo Thomas Hickey (Castleisland Desmonds) and Shaun Keane (Killarney Legion), and the third from Conor Dorman of Bishopstown. Billy Morgan's side will now meet Sligo or Queens University in the quarter finals.
