Sport Headlines 13th June
The Cork Footballers are facing into the All Ireland Football Championship Qualifiers after yesterday’s shock defeat to Tipperary in the Munster semi-finals.
Peadar Healy’s charges came from nine points down to level the contest in injury time, before the home side found two late points to win it.
Kerry dispatched Clare by 2-23 to 0-17 to book their place in the provincial decider.
In Connacht, Roscommon overcame Sligo by 4-16 to 2-13 in their semi-final at Dr Hyde Park.
In Ulster Donegal beat Fermanagh by 2-12 to 0-11.
In the Leinster Football Championship, Meath set up a semi-final date with old rivals Dublin.
Mickey Newman scored 0-7 as they beat neighbours Louth by 0-20 to 1-13 at Parnell Park.
Westmeath are through to face Kildare in the other semi after they edged Offaly by 0-13 to 0-12 at Cusack Park.
Meanwhile, the GAA will confirm times and venues for 1B of the football qualifiers later today. The matches will be played on June 25th and 26th.
The Cork Juniors are through to a Munster Final against Kerry after beating Tipperary 1-21 to 1-10.

In Euro 2016 news after a long wait Irelands opening game has arrived as they take on Sweden in Paris this evening at 5.
It remains uncertain who will start the game although the prognosis of Jonathan Walters seems to be good so he may get the nod.
In the days other action Spain meet the Czech Republic at 2 in Toulouse while in our group Belgium take on Italy in Lyon at 8.
Last night Germany over came Ukraine 2-0 while Northern Ireland lost 1-0 to Poland.

In Rugby Ireland coach Joe Schmidt is being linked to New Zealand Super rugby side the Highlanders.
The former Leinster coaches current deal with the IRFU runs until next year and he has said that he'll make up his mind about his long term future after a holiday this summer.

Meanwhile CJ Stander will find out his fate this morning. He has his disciplinary hearing in Johannesburg at 10am after South African born flanker was sent off in the historic win over Springboks on Saturday. Stander is facing a ban that could rule him out of the rest of the series.

She secured a gold medal and set a new World Record on her first attempt in the F38 Discus final.

In Racing The Connacht National is the feature race at Roscommon tonight. Defending champion Aranhill Chief is back to defend his crown for Stephen Mahon. That goes to post at 8:30pm while the first of a seven race card is away at 6pm.
