Pep Guardiola's side are in Romania for a playoff round tie with Steaua Bucharest,

Kick-off is at 7:45.

Ireland's Olympic Boxing hopes now lie with Michael Conlan following Katie Taylor's exit yesterday.

Bray lightweight Taylor was beaten on a split decision by Finland's Mira Potkonen in their quarter-final in Rio.

Belfast Bantam Conlan will be guaranteed at least a bronze medal if he beats Vladimir Nikitin of Russia in their quarter-final bout this afternoon.

In Sailing

Annalise Murphy will be racing for a medal today weather permitting.

After the medal race was postponed yesterday they're due back on the water this evening.

In the men's 49er Ryan Seaton and Matt McGovern are seventh overall going into their next races while Saskia Tidey and Andrea Brewster are 12th overall in the women's 49er's.

In Athletics 

Thomas Barr goes in the 400 metres hurdles semi finals at around twenty five to two while Tori  Pena competes in the pole vault at about quarter to two.

Oliver Dingley is in the 3 metre springboard diving semi final at 2 o'clock.

In Equestrian action Greg Broderick is in the Jumping individual 2nd qualifier at about 2.

Kilkenny's Michael Fennelly will miss the All-Ireland final against Tipperary.

It was confirmed that the key midfielder ruptured his Achilles tendon in the victory against Waterford on Saturday.

In the senior hurling championship last night

CIT defeated Avondhu 2-21 to 0-17

In the Under 21 hurling championship St Finbarrs take on Carrigaline at 6.15

And at 8 Courcey Rovers take on Inniscarra - both games are in Pairc ui Rinn.
