TEAM NEWS: Cork Hurling Team Named For Clash with All Ireland Champions
The Cork and Tipperary Teams have been named for their Munster Championship quarter final at Semple Stadium on Sunday.
Five Cork players will make their full Senior Championship debuts, with a newcomer featuring in every line of the Cork outfield selection.
Castlelyons Colm Spillane, Blarney's Mark Coleman, Douglas' Shane Kingston, Darragh Fitzgibbon from Charleville and Newcestown's Luke Meade have all been named in the starting fifteen.
Coleman and Kingston featured off the bench in last years Championship exit to Wexford.
The selection see's Anthony Nash continue in goals, Damien Cahalane returns from injury at full back with Captain Stephen McDonnell in the left corner with Spillane in the other.
The half back line remains the same with Mark Ellis at centre back, flanked by Christopher Joyce and Coleman, the 19 year old from Blarney started and finished every League game last Spring.
Fitzgibbon is named at midfield alongside Bill Cooper.
Conor Lehane wears 11 with Seamus Harnedy and Kingston named on the wings.
Patrick Horgan is named at full forward with Alan Cadogan and Meade in the corners.
This selection shows three changes to the team that started the National League quarter final defeat to Limerick in their last competitive fixture, five changes to the side that started the Championship exit to Wexford last July, and six changes to the starting fifteen for last years Munster Championship Quarter Final against Tipperary.
Meanwhile, Tipperary Manager Michael Ryan has named thirteen players from last years All Ireland winning team in his selection.
John O'Keeffe and Sean Curran are the new faces, while Bonner Maher and Michael Cahill are ruled out through injury.
