VACANCY - Full time broadcast sports journalist
Do you want to work on one of Ireland's biggest radio stations and one of the best sports platforms in the country?
The award winning Big Red Bench on Cork’s Red FM is looking for an experienced broadcast sports journalist/producer to join the team.
The Big Red Bench takes pride in delivering the very best of local, national and international sports content to its large audience, with over 50,000 people tuning in over Saturday and Sunday.
Reporting to the sports editor, your duties will include but are not limited to:
- Producing content for the Big Red Bench - interviews, features etc.
- Co-presenting the Big Red Bench, Saturdays and Sundays from 6pm
- Attending matches to obtain post match reaction, and to provide on air updates
- Delivering content across all of RedFM Sport's social media channels
- Producing and delivering hourly sports bulletins
The preferred candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of Gaelic Games and local Gaelic Games, a broad knowledge of all other sports, possess a good contacts book and have the ability to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team.
Experience with audio editing packages and the Burli Newsroom System is essential.
Experience of delivering news bulletins is desirable but not essential.
