Pick of the Week: Pastiche - ‘Paraphernalia' - Green on Red

What’s up Green On Red Heads, Conor here with my ‘Pick of the Week’.

One of Ireland’s most exciting and promising pop talents, Pastiche, has been forging a name for herself and building a unique identity very much apparent in her sound. The 22-year old Dubliner has been performing since the age of 4 - first in musical theatre, honing her love of singing and dancing before enrolling at BIMM and taking the steps needed to pursue a career in music. Her latest track ‘Paraphernalia’ is experimental pop at its most fun!

The track steadily builds; incorporating synth loops, vocal melodies and glitchy-pop drumbeats culminating in a feel-good, upbeat, summer-soaked anthem - fit for an epic night out! Pastiche has just announced her own headline show and will join Robert Grace (“The Hurt You Gave Me”) as support for his show – both taking place in Whelans later this year. Pastiche embodies a certain boldness, attitude and confidence not usually seen in Irish talent; which is deliberate as she says: “…it always seemed to be imported. There are very few successful female true Irish pop artists. The scene just wasn’t here - so we have created it! Radio stations are playing Dua Lipa - so why can't we have Irish pop instead? I want to help break that barrier.”

Catch the video for ‘Paraphernalia’ here and listen out for it across Cork’s RedFM before joining me for Green On Red this Sunday night from 7pm!
