RedFM Look For 1,000 Runners To Raise Funds For Cork Charities

This weekend Cork’s Red FM are kick starting their bid for 1000 people to run with them at this year’s Cork City Marathon.

As the official radio partner to the Irish Examiner Cork City Marathon 2016, Cork’s RedFM officially launched a new charity initiative #RunWithRed at the Clarion Hotel in Cork on Wednesday night. “Run with Red is about getting the RedFM presenters and hundreds of like-minded RedFM listeners to raise money for some great Cork charities” said CEO of Red FM Diarmuid O’Leary at the Launch.

This weekend Cork’s Red FM are hosting a music marathon weekend where they will be calling on the people of Cork to sign up. “We want your friends, family, colleagues, workmates, college buddies, team mates, the locals in your pub, the girls at bingo to make up relay teams of 5” said Colm Moore, producer on the Neil Prendeville Show and also a well-known Marathon runner in Cork.

Red FM have lined up 6 charity partners for the marathon including CUH Children’s Unit, Pieta House, Cork Penny Dinners, Cork ARC Cancer Support House, Breakthrough Cancer Research and Enable Ireland. This means all the money raised by #RunWithRed stays in Cork.

For full details on how you can get involved with Run with Red visit www.redfm.ie/runwithred where people will also see training plans, blogs, advice and tips for the race. Everyone who signs up to #RunWithRed will get a RedFM goodie bag with a VERY DESIRABLE limited edition "Cork City Marathon 2016 #RunWithRed" t-shirt!
