Support The Barnardos National Collection Day

Tonight 1 in 9 children in Cork will go to bed hungry because they are living in Poverty. Barnardos seeks to transform the lives of children in Ireland by providing services to help them meet their milestones and get ready for school; by providing family supports to those facing challenges such as poverty and homelessness; and by helping parents to create a better home life for their children.

Barnardos is calling on the people of Cork to support their National Collection Day kindly supported by Dell taking place across towns and communities in Cork from 8am-8pm on Friday September 14th. All donations will go towards the charity’s work in ending the nightmare that is child poverty.

Poverty affects every aspect of a child’s life, which has short and long-term consequences on their health, education outcomes and life chances. Barnardos who has project centres in Mahon, Knocknaheeny & Youghal, provide a lifeline to children - giving them a safe space, a friendly face and proven programmes to help them escape the vicious cycle of poverty and improve their lives, no matter their circumstance.

To help, please give what you can to Barnardos collectors in your local area or donate now online at www.barnardos.ie
