35,000 AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccines due to arrive into Ireland next week

This vaccine has been described as a "gamechanger" numerous times by Government as it can be stored in regular fridges.
Latest figures show, more than 40,000 people have now received a second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna innoculations.
Head of the vaccination task force Profess Brian MacCraith says more people will benefit from this delivery:
"We know that the AstraZeneca vaccine will arrive someday next week, we don't we don't have a confirmed final date -but sometime the early to middle of next week. And our plan is, as with other vaccines, start to roll out there was almost as soon as they arrive so really we would bring them to our cold chain headquarters. All the preparation will be in place and then we start rolling them out and I think it's a very attractive vaccine as you know was particularly suited to use in the community."
