3,600 People To Receive Covid-19 Jab In MTU Vaccination Centre This Weekend

22 GP practices will be involved in the clinic today and tomorrow
2,600 'high risk' and 'very high risk' patients will get a Covid-19 jab in a vaccination centre in Cork this weekend.
1,000 over-70s will also receive their second dose in Munster Technological University.
Dr Mike Thompson is the clinical lead of the hub - he says he's looking forward to vaccinating vulnerable patients:
"We are moving on now to the next most vulnerable group, which is an illness based cohort, as opposed to an age based cohort. People in Category 4A would be people who have poorly controlled chest disease, poorly controlled diabetes, very high BMI. Then Category 7 would be those with a BMI of more than 35, serious asthma, moderate COPD - so it's much broader category."
