An Anti-Lockdown Rally To Take Place On Patrick Street At 2pm This Afternoon

The Lord Mayor is appealing to anyone thinking of going into the city to the rally this afternoon to avoid doing so.
Cllr Joe Kavanagh says the current health advice is to avoid any large gatherings and he says the people of Cork have worked hard to keep the number of Covid cases suppressed and a "super spreader" event such as this has the potential to create a spike in the number of cases.
While Foreign Affairs Minister Simon Coveney has appealed to the public not to show up even though he understands people are stressed by restrictions.
The Rally for Truth are calling for an end to lockdown which they say is damaging to our health and economy and to urge the Government to be honest in regard to death levels from Covid19.
