Around 100 turn out for protest in city centre against gender based violence

Around 100 people have turned out in the city centre for a protest against gender based violence with mask wearing and social distancing in place.

It's the second protest in Ireland this week following the murder of Sarah Everard in England at the start of this month.

Feminist movment ROSA say the aim of the demonstration is to reclaim the streets and their lives.

A report by the European Fundamental Rights Agency found that 83% of women restrict their movements because of the fear of sexual harassment and assault.
